Born July 24, 1996, (Joseph) Mackenzie Britt grew up in Hopkinton, Massachusetts living with his parents and two siblings. He spent bianual vacations with family in the Rockie Mountains of Colorado, and summers at the beach in Manomet, a neighborhood of Plymouth, MA. In addition, he has spent 3-10 weeks for the past 7 summers at Merrowvista, a summer program that is part of the American Youth Foundation in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Throughout his childhood, nature and the wilderness have played an integral role in his development. It has shaped his experience with the world beyond himself and serves as a guide to interacting with the wilderness as well as people. His developing practice at its core serves as a personal exploration of his relationship with the woods and his childhood, discovering new facets and layers to an ever shifting connection.
